Kelly Preston Biography
Kelly Preston was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, in October 13, 1962 as Kelly Kamalelehua Palzis Preston. Her mother was an administrator in a mental health center, while her biological father drowned when she was three years old. Kelly Preston spent some of her childhood days in Iraq, and then to Australia, where she studied at the Pembroke School in Adelaide.

Kelly Preston began her modeling career during her teens, and soon found roles in commercials and small parts in movies. Kelly Preston also became the top endorser of Neutrogena, and was also featured as the love interest of Maroon 5 vocalist Adam Levine in their video, "She Will Be Loved". Her acting credits include Twins opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger in 1988, Jerry Maguire in 1996, Addicted to Love (1997) and For the Love of the Game with Kevin Costner in 1999.

Some films credited to Kelly Preston include Christine (1983), Mischief (1985), Secret Admirer (1985), Space Camp (1986), Spellbinder (1988), Only You (1992), From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Nothing to Lose (1997), Jack Frost (!998), The Cat in the Hat (2003) and Death Sentence (2007), among others. For 2008, Kelly is working on two movies – “The Possibility of Fireflies” and “Old Dogs”.

Kelly Preston is presently involved in humanitarian issues, particularly dealing with children. She devotes most of her time in the Children's Health Environmental Coalition, a non-profit organization that aims to educate parents about environmental hazards for children with illnesses such as allergies and asthma. Preston even advocated that acts wherein schools and families force-medicate children with ADD be banned. In July of 2005, a federal law took effect regarding this issue, but only schools with federal funding are subject to its terms.

Kelly Preston is more popularly known as the wife of actor John Travolta. They have been married for sixteen years and together they have two children, Jett (born 1992) and Ella Blue (born 2000). Before her marriage to Travolta, Preston dated George Clooney and was once engaged to Charlie Sheen. Kelly Preston was once married to Kevin Gage from 1986 to 1988.

John Travolta married Kelly Preston twice – first was on September of 1991 by a French Scientologist minister. However, they later found out that their marriage was legally invalid. Within a month, they remarried immediately. Both Travolta and Preston are active members of the Church of Scientology. Kelly appeared in a film produced by Travolta called “Battlefield Earth”, which was based on a novel by Scientology founder Ron Hubbard.
